Who should be a Guardian?
A guardian is a friend, relation or colleague who has a mobile phone and agrees
to provide assistance if required.
What does a Guardian do?
Their role is simple. When they receive a request for help, they follow the
Keepusafe™ Emergency Response Procedure You can have up to six nominated guardians
to provide round-the-clock cover.
What is the Emergency Response Procedure?
This is our guide to helping your guardians take the right course of action.
It’s available for download here. A copy is supplied to every guardian
when you take out a subscription to Keepusafe™. These should be kept in a
prominent place in the guardian’s home or office for rapid reference
and action.
Does Keepusafe™ alert the emergency services?
We believe that the guardians will always be best placed to make decisions
concerning your personal safety. In the rare circumstance that the emergency
services are required to assist, they will be contacted by a guardian.
Is it hard to learn how to use the Keepusafe™
system?
No, it’s very easy, but we do recommend that guardians attend one of
our 45 minute training courses to make sure they’re fully aware of their
responsibilities. We can also train users, children or adults, so that using
the system becomes second nature even in a stressful situation.
Contact us here to
find out more and arrange a training session.
How do I know the system won’t
go off by mistake, perhaps when a mobile button is pushed accidentally
in a pocket or handbag?
Impact on the key isn’t enough to activate the system. It needs to be
held down, making accidental usage extremely unlikely.
Does the system work when my keypad is
locked?
No. We recommend that users always unlock their phones if they are even slightly
concerned about their surroundings.
There are still ‘holes’ in
mobile networks. What does someone do if they have no signal?
The Keepusafe™ system only works where there is a mobile signal. Coverage is
improving all the time, and ‘black spots’ are becoming increasingly
rare.
Doesn’t the ability to trace a
user mean there is a risk of infringing their privacy?
Our policy requires that all users give their consent before the Keepusafe™
system is loaded onto their mobiles. It is only possible to locate a user who
has issued a request for help and therefore actively wishes to be located.
Does it work on all networks?
Vodafone, Orange, O2, T-mobile, are all compatible.
Does it work on all handsets?
There are some very old models of handset that cannot accommodate the system.
If you’re worried about your phone, click here to find out if you need
a new handset before using Keepusafe™.

of one user plus one guardian is required to operate Keepusafe™.

You pay by direct debit or credit card on a 12-month subscription.

rising cycle of violence. Currently it is only possible to determine the
