How Keepusafe™ works

Keepusafe™ utilises the latest mobile phone infrastructure to deliver its unique and highly professional personal security service. It is totally reliable being based on the mobile phone networks of the leading service providers, such as Vodafone, Orange etc.

When a subscription to Keepusafe™ is made the nominated mobile phone receives a software download from Keepusafe™ that re-programmes it into a potentially life-saving device. This enables a request for help to be sent by a user by merely holding down a single nominated key on the mobile’s handset.

The user’s request for help sends a text message to the mobile telephones of up to six guardians who will have been nominated in the set-up procedure. One of these will return the user’s call. Because the user may be in a compromised situation the guardian has a list of pre-determined short questions to quickly establish the seriousness of the user’s situation. This information is contained within the Keepusafe™ Emergency Response Procedure.

Simply by holding down one key on the mobile, a request for help can be made very discreetly, if necessary, without the mobile leaving a pocket or handbag or even having to look at it if it is in the hand. Nobody else need be aware that help has been summoned.

When the guardian returns the call, the mobile ringing is very often sufficient to defuse a confrontation. Simultaneously the Keepusafe™ website records the geographic location from which the request for help was made.

It is the guardian’s responsibility to decide how to react to the circumstances of the user, in the most serious scenario alerting the emergency services. If this proves necessary the precise location from which the request for help was made will prove invaluable.
